答：是的，你可以继续按照临时居民的身份在加拿大逗留，直到加拿大公民和移民部对你的新的申请做出最终的决定，只要你的新申请是在你的许可到期日之前递交的。

如果你申请的是更新你的学习许可，则：

你可以停留在加拿大，按照原先的学习许可的规定继续学习，直到加拿大公民和移民部对你的申请做出最终的决定。

如果你已经递交了一个不同类型的临时居民申请（比如：工作许可）

在你的学习许可到期日这天，一旦学习许可有效期截止，则你必须停止原先的学习许可当中规定的任何学习活动。比如，你当初来加拿大是按照学生的身份来的，但是现在你申请了工作许可。如果是这样的话，一旦你的学习许可到期，则你必须停止学习。在此之后，除非你得到一个新的许可，否则你不能工作或者学习。
